Telstra Credit Management Services, Melbourne, 22 August 2002In 2002, Hattaways designed 12 credit management training modules for Telstra. Each was to be able to be taught as a stand-alone unit, but initially staff were taught in two phases, six modules per day. The material was based largely on two of Hattaways standard public courses but included additional material to meet Telstra's specific needs. For example, separate units were created to cover risk management, assertiveness, and stress management. (These are not currently covered in our public seminars. The material was presented to Telstra's credit staff by internal trainers who had been through a comprehensive train-the-trainers programme from Hattaways. This was the first time Hattaways had attempted to train the trainers of a client in presenting its material. It was a challenging but ultimately successful exercise.
If you have a reasonably large group of people - you want to put through our courses, rather than come to our public courses, you will probably find it more economic to have us present the training in-house. This also allows us to tailor the material to your specific needs, change the length of the course, or present on days that suit you better. For example, we've presented seminars on Saturdays and Sundays, presented half-day versions of our courses, and presented seminars which were a mix of our psychology and law seminars.
What if you have 12 credit staff spread around four cities? You'd like to run The Psychology of Credit Management in-house, but the travel costs and travel time make it impractical. Send them to the public courses in their cities. We can work out a deal that you will find attractive.
We can also offer a train-the-trainers option, where we train your training staff to train your colleagues. (Please note that this is not a cheap option.)
